When we go through times of big change and transition, it can be both physically and mentally challenging and even draining. This is a totally normal response to all the new things that is happening and sometimes you just need a bit of extra support to keep yourself strong and grounded.
Being true to yourself takes Courage, as we worry about not being good enough as we are. We worry about what our friends and family will think when they get to know the real us. But, with time and practice, being ourselves is actually a lot easier and a huge relief.
It is “easy”, secure and safe to stay in the harbour; the familiar, well-known routines, situations that we feel comfortable with. Sometimes we might not even feel comfortable and happy with the situation, but at least we know what to expect. Yet, is that what life is about? Is that what will make us truly happy?
Fear of succeeding is a surprisingly huge block for many people, though it sounds odd at first. Because, logically and reasonably, we set out to succeed, don’t we? Yes, but we are so used to the familiar and known status quo that our unhappiness is kinda comfortable. So we fear change - even if it means more happiness and success.
The Universe wants us all to thrive and succeed and be happy. So, when I boldly declared that I would now be better at saying ‘no’, the Universe thought “Great - let’s give her some opportunities to practice in!” Very kind of the Universe indeed!
When you spend time with people who believe in you, who encourage you, who challenges you to do better - in a compassionate and positive way - it will teach you so much about yourself (and others) and give you such a boost!
It is never too late to stop and start again, and it doesn’t only have to happen beginning of January. Rather than fully ditching your goals and throwing them out the window, how about reviewing them, re-aligning your efforts and recommitting to them?
The more you focus on things you are good at, and acknowledge that these things and skills are equally “worthy” as the ones you need to fight and work hard for, your sense of achievement and satisfaction will grow. Find your Superpower and use it!
As much as I believe that we can all create and live the life we want, I don’t believe that it happens overnight and I don’t believe that it happens by accident. It happens because you are crystal clear on what you want, you have created a plan, and you are working purposefully towards it.
Not everybody has a crystal clear vision of what they want their future to be. That’s ok. It doesn’t mean that you can’t work ‘on’ your life and work ‘on’ yourself. Sometimes we just need to create more space in our lives in order to have the energy, time and capacity to see the bigger picture and create that life.
We all have dreams and plans, right? However, many of us are putting blocks in our own way by letting others taking charge. For me, that has really been the first step; I needed to realise that I can’t rely on others to make my dreams come true. I needed to take control and responsibility for my own actions, in order to create the life that I want to live.
